Announcements

Upcoming Events

October 15 – meeting in Hamilton – Losing a Big Client
November 19 – Holiday Social
December 17 – webinar – LinkedIn presentation by Salma

We talked about returning to Canyon Creek for the Holiday Social as we enjoyed it last year, but their prices have gone up and the private room was very cold. I’m going to book Paradiso if it’s available.

Starting in January, I’ll be making a small change to the RSVP process in the back end which will allow you to see who has already registered and let you know if you try to register more than once for the same event.

Discussion: Working with a Coach

Types of Coaching

  • one-on-one / group
  • short term / long term
  • focused on a specific need / pre-set program
  • VA-specific / generic
  • paid / barter of services / free (this is usually limited to one session)

Key Takeaways

  1. Decide exactly what you need to achieve before choosing your coach or coaching program.
  2. Have the right mindset and be committed to the process.
  3. Put in the time and effort to make it work, or don’t bother.
  4. Make sure the coach understands your industry. If you’re new, a specialized VA coach might be the best fit to help you get your business off the ground. If you’re more established and have specialized needs, a general business coach or one who specializes in the area where you need help (e.g. marketing, finances) might be better.
  5. Ask for recommendations.
